Episode 22 - 1914 Season Review

The business for the day is to look back on the 1914 Boston Braves, the first World Series Champions in franchise history. But first, we discuss the signing of the second over 40 starting pitcher by the Braves this offseason, with the acquisition of Bartolo Colon. (We're for it, generally speaking.) Then we take our deep dive into the 1914 Boston Braves, the truly amazing miracle team led by George Stallings. Even for the Deadball Era, they were a defense and pitching dependent team who got by through mixing and matching their war into an appropriate defense. We also get to talk about Rabbit Maranville for awhile, which is always fun. We also briefly look forward to our next episode, about the 1957 World Champion Milwaukee Braves.
