Episode 24 - 1966 Season Review

Finally, we have reached the 1966 Atlanta Braves, the first team to call Atlanta home. But before we can break down the first team my father ever truly loved, we need to talk about the Braves making trades in the present with their stockpile of pitching prospects. The Braves announced they were moving to Atlanta in 1965, but only came for the 1966 season. This was a team still sporting Hank Aaron and Eddie Matthews, but they also had a fleet of capable hitters up and down the lineup. Their pitching was promising, but never really panned out. This would set a template for Atlanta teams until 1991. Also, we talk quite a bit about Tony Cloninger, more than anyone would probably guess we could.
