Episode 19

While we were a day later than planned, we were able to take stock of where the Braves are right now. This roster is probably better than it was at the beginning of the year, but there is no doubt that the Braves are playing better. We consider the improvements the Braves have made this season, with the biggest being Dansby Swanson. We also consider the Braves' three minor league affilliates doing well in their respective league playoffs. In particular, we think about whether it means the Braves' system will produce backups and role players as well as stars. Then we reluctantly get to Ozzie Albies' injury, but a glance at Chipper Jones' minor league career provides a lesson in the less than neat path even hall of famers sometimes take.
