Episode 33 - 1996 Season Review

Our topic for today was the Atlanta Braves' 1996 Season, which ended in one of the great gut punches in Braves' history during the World Series against the Yankees. Fittingly, we discussed it after the Atlanta Falcons had one of the all time great gut punches against the Patriots in the Super Bowl. So while we discussed Chipper's breakout year, Andruw's arrival, and the continued excellence of this pitching staff, we also made it a rumination on horrible losses in sports. This somewhat extends to an entire debriefing on Atlanta's sorry sports history, which is also the sports fan history of my father. (We also mention the World Baseball Classic and Braves who made country's rosters, but mostly Floyds don't pay attention to that event.)
