Episode 59 - August 11, 2017
The Braves are, in the grand scheme, exactly where we thought they would be at the start of the season. They are a slightly below .500 team that still has an extremely bright future. Of course, in detail, everything seems a little off. The double play combo of the future is together on the MLB roster, but only because Dansby Swanson was recalled after Johan Camargo injured himself coming onto the field. The best pitcher in the Atlanta rotation is Mike Foltynewicz, and Julio Teheran has been a disaster. Brandon Phillips and Matt Adams seem extraneous to this team, and Nick Markakis and Matt Kemp seem like a burden for next year's team. But we still have Ronald Acuna, Mike Soroka, and a host of other products knocking on the door.
