Episode 60 - August 18, 2017

The Braves had a fairly odd week, although more because they played a handful of truly weird games, including a 17-2 loss, a game that was scoreless into the 8th in Coors, and a game decided on an error by the best third baseman in baseball. Still, they went 3-4 in the last week, which is par for the course with this club this season. Once again, we discuss the future, but that's because Dansby Swanson's great week and Ronald Acuna's unbelievable season have shaped expectations in different ways. The Braves are still primed to be a contender in the near future, but whether that near future is next year or not is still unclear. Certainly, the team's staff is in no condition to compete next year without a talent infusion at the Major League Level. On the other hand, we do start the year with Freddie Freeman, Ender Inciarte, an exciting double play combination, a solid catcher, and a wealth of pitching prospects.
