June 13 - 1886 - King Ludwig II of Bavaria is Found Dead
King Ludwig II of Bavaria was a great patron of the arts, especially the theater and architecture, who was darkly handsome and interesting. But his spending on the theater and architecture caused a serious stress on the government funds. So his ministers decided to get rid of him, getting doctors to say that Ludwig was insane and unfit to rule. After they succeeded in deposing Ludwig as King, they sent him to the Berg Castle south of Munich with a doctor. And then that day he was found dead in one of the great mysteries of the nineteenth century.
