June 25 - 1876 - The Battle of the Little Big Horn
The Battle of Little Big Horn, better known as Custer's Last Stand, is almost more legend than historical fact. Yet the facts of Little Big Horn are crazy and peculiar enough to be interesting without any legendary elements. Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer was a boastful, dashing, and daring military commander, which gave him an impressive career up to 1876 and proved to be his undoing at the Battle of Little Big Horn. Custer's place in history has gone from being heroic to foolish to racist. They are probably all true.
