August 26 - 1920 - The Nineteenth Amendment is Certified
The Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution guaranteed women the right to vote, but it was a long time coming. The process of getting women the right to vote was a long, hard slog, and attempts to get a Supreme Court ruling that granted women's suffrage failed. But once momentum was attained for women's suffrage, the paassage of the Nineteenth Amendment developed relatively quickly. After the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment, women become an important part of the electorate, but they don't actually help one party over another or form one solid block.
